The Anabaptist Play

This is the tale of Madge, who has just been adopted by their Mennonite grandparents, after their mother was killed by their father. It hasn’t stopped raining since the murder and Madge thinks the world is ending. While their Grandfather, is only worried about the future of the crops and all their immortal souls. Frustratingly, every time they check the weather their ancestors from the 16th and 19th century storm the stage. As the Revelations style apocalypse approaches, the script asks questions about the fate of people who have been strapped so tightly to their predetermined role that they run out of air to breathe.
